Fueling the world safely and responsibly

With operations in more than 60 countries globally, our team of 62,000 scientists, engineers, researchers, technicians, professionals and other employees, are focused on safely meeting the world’s energy and product needs – something we’ve been doing for more than 140 years.

Driving our net-zero ambitions

We’ve been in Europe for nearly 140 years. In the past 10 years alone, we’ve invested more than €20 billion here. Our 12,000 European employees supply Europe with energy that powers daily life and chemicals that make everyday products possible.

We aim for net-zero Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions from our operated assets by 2050. Achieving these ambitions will take a wide range of technologies, which is why we’re working on things like carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen, chemical recycling (also known as advanced recycling) and lower-emission fuels. A supportive policy and regulatory environment is critical in progressing these projects

Big industries, big solutions

ExxonMobil knows industry. About two-thirds of the products we make are used by commercial and industrial companies – including electric utilities, trucking and other commercial transportation, and heavy industries like steel and cement. And of course, we’re an industrial company ourselves. Reducing emissions from industry will be key to meeting society’s climate goals. That’s why we’re scaling up carbon capture and storage, and the next generation of industrial fuels – like hydrogen – which can help industries reduce emissions while continuing to provide essential products for the world. These are more than emissions solutions; they’re the foundations of potential new industries focused on carbon reduction – and ExxonMobil is positioned to help lead the way.

Closing the learning gap

Engineers help shape the future. Whether it’s developing new fuel sources, managing energy resources more efficiently or exploring the outer edges of the universe, engineers make it happen. However, not enough students are pursuing engineering or other careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). By supporting programs that improve teaching and learning in these key areas, ExxonMobil is focused on making a difference in our children’s lives and our nation’s future.

Our Vision and Our Purpose
