Are you excited by the idea of shaping the future of Business & Service Design at Proximus? Do you have a strong BSD background, a clear design vision, and a passion for coaching? Then you could be our next Guild Lead for Business & Service Design—driving quality, growth, and excellence across the team. As Guild Lead, your main mission is to enable Business & Service Designers to deliver best-in-class value propositions and seamless cross-channel user journeys—from scoping to MVP.

You will achieve this by:
  • Building & maintaining clear standards and best practices
  • Inspiring the team with vision and fresh perspectives from both inside and outside
    Proximus
  • Growing talent through coaching and training

Together, these pillars form the foundation of the Guild’s purpose: Build, Inspire, Grow (B.I.G.) Next to that, as part of DesOps & the DES leadership staff, you play a key role in shaping the strategy of the entire Design Chapter Area and help bringing it to life. Your success = designer growth, vision for and maturity of the BSD practice, and positive DES OKR contributions.

You determine how a BSD will continue to play a unique and highly impactful role in the Proximus organization, what skills are needed and plan accordingly so that all BSD can play this role. You translate the BSD vision into a pragmatic approach to build the relevant competencies, processes & tools to support this. Each quarter you specify your priorities in the DesOps RWP and you align your HCD organisation with it. In Proximus, you are the reference for BSD.

  • (Inspire) You stay on top of market trends, benchmark Proximus BSD design, follow ‘gurus’, explore new tools (incl. AI) and judge their relevance for the BSD’ers at Proximus to keep the Guild future-ready. You bring in external experts, encourage peer learning, and broaden perspectives to keep the team inspired and open to change.
  • (Grow) You guide and support BSD’ers at all levels— Whether it’s through temporary, intensive coaching for new team members or strategic sparring sessions with experienced designers, you’ll help them overcome challenges and grow. Based on the collective BSD skills assessment, you work out and execute a yearly training plan for all BSD’ers to (optionally) follow (personal training plans are done by CO). Working closely with chapter owners, you ensure that BSD quality is maintained across the company.
  • You also try to maintain an overview of the various projects within Proximus and connect designers across chapters and stimulate cross-team collaboration where possible.
  • Community building & engagement: You cultivate a strong and connected BSD Guild, united by a shared mission / accountability. You empower designers to co-create the future of BSD through topic-based circles. You promote a culture of shared learning, innovation, and teamwork, where BSD’ers feel a sense of belonging and continuously grow together.
  • To bring all this together, you take the lead in the organisation of the BSD guild homecoming day and managethe different BSD knowledge sources(on Teams, Figma, knowledge hub)
  • You also strengthen collaboration with UX/UI, Content Design, Product experts and other roles (e.g. Process, PO, Pricing), ensuring clear responsibilities and smooth teamwork across squads. You align regularly with your fellow Guild leads how to improve delivery of Guild & transversal DesOps initiatives.

Mission

Within Network operations, the FNP (Fiber Network Program) entity has been responsible for the industrialized rollout of fiber in Belgium since 2017 together with Panda© construction partners. This rollout is now well advanced, and three new challenges are emerging.

  • First, we must finalize the acceptance of the different regions we deployed together with our Panda© partners.
  • Second, Network Operations is now positioned as a competent player in the Belgian market to support and execute activities for our Joint Ventures, and FNP plays a key consulting role in negotiating execution prices or determining the best way to carry out these activities with a partner.
  • Third, given the progress of our rollout, the number of connectable buildings and activated customers is becoming substantial, so FNP is also responsible for the new FOR-Program, which aims to establish an effective repair and maintenance strategy with financial transparency and controlled operational costs.

In this context, FNP is looking for a qualified individual with advanced experience in
fiber deployment activities, skilled in negotiating technical and financial aspects, and capable of finalizing agreements for the acceptance of areas delivered by partners.
Your mission also includes providing consultancy to improve the efficiency of new or ongoing deployments in which Proximus is involved—especially important given the large volumes already deployed and the critical importance of budget efficiency.
You will also take part in O\&M programs, contributing your operational efficiency
expertise to strengthen financial transparency regarding the operational volume of network repair and maintenance activities.

Role & responsibilities :

You will work closely with various NEO departments, other Proximus entities, and
external parties (construction partners, JVs, etc.):

  • Establish a structural governance model to industrialize the official acceptance of fiber deployment projects between project managers and construction partners.
  • Define rules and mechanisms to ensure that all required criteria are met by both our project managers and partners—particularly regarding network quality, proper documentation, and the ability to easily extend the network, activate customers, or ensure repair and maintenance.
  • Ensure that financial information is provided correctly by project managers or partners, and lead negotiations to ensure Proximus pays the right price for what is accepted.
  • Keep management and finance informed collaboratively about the progress of your negotiations and their budgetary impacts, and manage possible escalations.
  • Maintain control of the acceptance process and improve it whenever opportunities arise.
  • Act as a “Swiss Army knife” in construction or O&M activities—able to advise internal and external stakeholders on how to perform operational activities (including civil works), represent them, track them financially, integrate them into contracts, and ultimately negotiate them.
  • Support or lead, together with involved parties, the implementation of your recommendations to ensure operational or financial success.
  • With your knowledge of network architectures, construction, repair, and maintenance activities, prepare for the future by innovating in the organization of O&M activities, proposing transparent monitoring of operational activities with detailed financial components—both for our own network and for Joint Ventures. You will also collaboratively support implementation or negotiations here.
  • Stay up to date with the latest telecommunications technologies and AI advancements, as well as their implementation methods, to benefit your activities.
Your Profile
  • You are an engineer or have equivalent experience in positions with significant responsibility.
  • You have at least 10–15 years of experience in the telecommunications sector as a deployment project manager and/or contract negotiation expert in telecom.
  • You possess strong analytical and synthesis skills, enabling you to solve complex technical issues or difficult negotiations.
