As the bank of the European Union, we are committed to the EU’s motto “United in Diversity” and strive to put DEI at the heart of who we are and what we do. We believe that fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace makes us a more innovative and effective organisation, helping us achieve our core mission of improving lives and promoting sustainable growth.

Join us live on March 27th, 2025, to interact directly with members of our Mosaic employee resource group and our HR team, to find out how we maintain an environment free from ethnicity-based discriminatory behaviour and aim to reflect Europe’s diversity in our teams and locations.

We look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we build an inclusive culture of diverse voices that is collaborative, respectful, and kind, where our people feel they belong, and no one is left behind.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is one of the biggest multilateral financial institutions in the world and one of the largest providers of climate finance.

As the lending arm of the European Union (EU), we support projects that promote the EU’s objectives, with a focus on accelerating the green transition, boosting technological innovation, bolstering security and defence, and supporting regional cohesion and social infrastructure development.

Our commitment to international development and capital markets integration safeguards Europe’s strong global presence. Our priorities boost growth, prosperity, and technological and social progress, in individual member states, across the whole EU and around the world.

Our people are our greatest asset. Headquartered in Luxembourg, we now number more than 4,000 staff, and aim to reflect the diversity of Europe, in all our teams, in all our locations, and throughout our business.

enAble is the EIB Group employee resource group on disability and neurodiversity. The group aims to create a safe space for disabled or neurodivergent staff and their allies, and for carers – to share experiences, learn from each other and advance disability and neurodiversity inclusion. Through a wide array of activities and events, enAble is playing a key role in making the EIB Group a more welcoming and accessible workplace for all.

The EIB is the European Union's bank

We are the only bank owned by and representing the interests of the European Union Member States. We work closely with other EU institutions to implement EU policy. Our expertise is based on more than 60 years’ experience and the specialised knowledge of over 3,400 staff.

Our priorities

We support projects that make a significant contribution to growth and employment in Europe. As part of our counter-cyclical approach, our activities focus on four priority areas: innovation and skills, access to finance for smaller businesses, environment and climate, infrastructure.

We raise the bulk of our lending resources on the international capital markets through bond issues. Our excellent rating allows us to borrow at advantageous rates. We thus are able to offer good terms to our clients.

Why work for the EIB?

For many of us the greatest reward is to know that our contribution makes a positive impact on people’s lives, in the EU and beyond. By joining the EIB you will have the opportunity to make your contribution, whilst also developing your skillset and facing new professional challenges.

Based in Luxembourg, with a network of local and regional offices in Europe and across the world, we offer a pleasant and interesting work environment where people can achieve their professional goals, while maintaining work-life balance; with excellent professional development opportunities through training, internal mobility and merit-based career growth.

Inclusion at the EIB

As the bank of the European Union, we are committed to the EU’s objectives and values, and aspire to live up to one of its founding principles – United in diversity.

Diversity and Inclusion encompass everything that makes us who we are.
We believe that encouraging colleagues to be comfortable bringing their identities to work is essential to the success and development of the Bank, and reflects Europe itself.

Our diverse backgrounds, perspectives and passions help us shape the inclusive environment in which we work every day.
